Caring for an ill or aging loved one at home can be fulfilling, rewarding, and it may provide the opportunity for quality time with your loved one. This commitment can also be challenging, stressful and draining at times. Please join us, as we demonstrate "how to" interventions and discuss "tricks to the trade" to best support families on their journey of caregiving at home. These interventions will apply to the beginning stages of illness or aging, the progressive stage, as well as the end stage of the disease process.
To include; Safety, infection control, feeding, transferring, ambulating, dressing, bathing, oral cares, incontinent cares; bedridden cares-changing linen, bed bath, skin protection, positioning; equipment use and set-up as it relates to specific diseases and diagnoses, discuss possible resources; end of life comfort cares-spiritual, emotional, physical, business/funeral-interventions, and resources.
