This 79-hour course is designed to provide knowledge and basic nursing skills needed to care for patients and residents in a variety of long-term care facilities. The course is non-credit and a prerequisite to the IWCC Nursing program. The course consists of 34 hours of classroom, 15 hours of lab and 30 hours of clinical. At the end of the course, you will be prepared to take the State Skills Test and the State Written Exam in order to be placed on the Direct Care Worker’s Registry in the state of Iowa.
