About the Program
Pharmacy technicians perform pharmacy-related functions, working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Our 196-hour Pharmacy Technician program offers students both theoretical and practical training. Students are required to complete an 60-hour externship in a retail setting, as well as two 8 Hour shifts in the acute/hospital pharmacy. Upon completion of the program, students will take the PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) exam.

Career and Salary Information
Pharmacy technicians are employed in a wide variety of practice settings, including community settings such as chain or independent pharmacies, hospitals, home health care, long term care, nuclear pharmacy and managed health care facilities. According to EMSI, pharmacy technician careers are expected to grow 16% through 2025 and expected starting wage is $12-$14 per hour.
